Monarch Butterfly Photography Workshop
➡️ January 20-26, 2027
📍Mexico
I’m heading to Mexico this January to lead a workshop to photograph the monarch butterfly migration - one of the most incredible wildlife phenomena on the planet. These little butterflies travel thousands of miles from the US and Canada to overwinter in the mountain forests of central Mexico. The butterflies gather in colonies that can top a billion in a single site.
During this seven day trip we will hike and ride horseback into butterfly sanctuaries to see the colonies up close, visit villages, eat amazing food, and explore the Zócalo area near Mexico City.
This trip has been on my bucket list for years and I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with Holbrook Travel on this workshop. Holbrook has been running trips in Latin America for decades and has the connections on the ground to cater this experience to photographers.
