2019 - Year in Review

Reflecting on a great year of photography on the Chesapeake Bay and beyond! Thank you all for the continued support - I am looking forward to more adventures in 2020!

Dozens of photography outings on the Chesapeake Bay

Documenting the Atlantic Sea Scallop fishery

Maryland Public Television released an eight minute documentary about my work - A Different Lens - on Outdoors Maryland in November.

A Different Lens: For Jay Fleming, photography is a way to capture and preserve the unique characters and environments of an aging and changing Chesapeake region. Whether on the dock, in a boat, or under the water, there are few if any photographers who have so thoroughly documented life in the Chesapeake Bay region. Join Fleming as he practices his craft onboard fishing boats in the bay and at Rippons Brothers, Inc. in Hoopersville.

Continued work on ‘Island Life’ - expected publication Fall of 2021

Commercial work covering a wide variety of subject matter

Moved my studio from downtown annapolis to Maryland Hall Center for the creative arts.
