Photography workshops out of Hoopers Island, Maryland take photographers to a remote fishing community on the Chesapeake in Dorchester County. The seemingly endless marshes of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and the working waterfronts of Hoopers Island are a perfect backdrop for photographing iconic Chesapeake landscapes, waterscapes, traditions and wildlife. Workboats abandoned along the shorelines, watermen pulling in pound nets at sunrise and a working crab picking house are among the many subjects covered during the three-day workshop. The price for the workshop includes waterfront lodging, food, photography instruction, and boat transportation during the workshop. The workshop is limited to five participants.

Jay is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed boat captain with more than 1000 documented days on the water in the last five years.

$900.00 deposit for the 2024 Hoopers Island Photography Workshop - this payment reserves the space on the trip. The total cost of the workshop is $1800.00 The remaining balance of $900.00 is due 30 days prior to the date workshop -payable by check on the date of the workshop.

A detailed itinerary will be sent out to each participant 30 days before to the workshop along with the payment link for the balance. In the event of a cancellation more than 30 days before the workshop, the deposit is refunded minus a $250.00 processing/rebooking fee. If a cancellation is made less than 30 days before the workshop, the deposit is not refundable.
