- Boat Bows -

Select photographs from Jay’s collection of boat bows. This series started in the summer of 2015 while Jay was on assignment for Wooden Boat Magazine to photographing Sjogin, a small sailing dinghy. A photograph taken of the bow of Sjogin quickly became one of Jay’s more popular pieces and he invested time to take the series to the next level while on a trip to Maine the following year. Since these first two shoots that inspired his creativity, Jay is constantly on the lookout for the perfect bow and the conditions that will provide the ideal light, background and reflections. This series of photographs shows vessels along the Atlantic Coast of the United States, Canada and Cuba.

- Bottom Paint and Boot stripes -

Select photographs from a series on bottom paint and boot stripes of boats at dry dock. Inspired by colors, texture and symmetry this series of photographs was created in the Spring of 2022 at boatyards on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and Virginia.
