Brown Boobies are a pelagic seabird that feed exclusively on fish. Their typical range in the Atlantic Ocean is from the Florida Keys south to Brazil. There have been a handful of Brown Boobies perching on the aids to navigation near the mouth of the Chester River, about 1000 miles north of their range. Wildlife photographer and photo-instructor, Emily Carter Mitchell had been keeping an eye on different sighting reports of the birds for the past few days and asked if I would go out this afternoon to look for them. We found the birds on the same green can buoy where they were seen a few days ago.
