Maryland Dept. of Agriculture - Video Commercial highlighting Crab industry

On Monday evening at Donnelly's Dockside in Arnold, I was on set producing a commercial for Maryland's Best. The 15-second piece shows a 'True Blue' Maryland crab feast and highlights the social aspects of eating crabs.

This production would not have been possible without the generosity of the following people/businesses:

-Dan from Donnelly's Dockside for the use of his restaurant
-Nick Crook and Ben Byers for the best MD Crabs of the year
-Shannon Sullivan for gathering the crab eaters
-Alexander Glass for helping with the shooting/production
-Flying Dog Brewery for their support of the Maryland Crabbers through the Deadrise summer ale and the 'True Blue' program

2018 Chesapeake Bay Photography Workshops

The 2018 On-The-Water photography workshops started in May, since then I have hosted over 60 photographers on the water out of Smith Island and Annapolis. The unusually wet spring and summer has provided for difficult conditions for the workshops, and at the same time, it has resulted in amazing lightning conditions with dramatic skies. I am looking forward to six more workshops in 2018 of Annapolis, St. Michaels and Hoopers Island.

Filmmaker, Alexander Glass, joined me on an Annapolis workshop in July to create a video to capture students shooting on the water and working in my studio.

Reflecting on Annapolis Photography Workshops - July 2018

This week, I hosted fifteen photographers on the water out of Annapolis during three workshops. A break in the recent wet weather pattern provided us with great weather each morning for shooting at the mouth of the Severn and South Rivers. We focused our shooting efforts on watermen targeting crabs and clams, recreational fishermen, Thomas Point Lighthouse, the commercial shipping industry and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

There are two spaces available for both the Thursday (8.2.2018) and Friday (8.3.2018) workshops next week. Contact me for more information or to reserve a space:
