Looking forward to Oyster Recovery Partnership's annual fundraiser - Mermaid's Kiss Oyster Fest - this Thursday, September 29th at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
One of the items featured in the silent auction is an original print of my photograph of the last house at Holland Island taken in 2010. The print is beautifully framed by Portside Framers with a double thick matte and a luxurious gold leaf frame. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit ORP.

'Smart Seafood' discussion at the Baltimore Book Festival - 9/24/2016
Had a great time moderating the 'smart seafood' discussion this afternoon with 'Chesapeake Champions' Patrick Hudson, chef John Shields and chef Spike Gjerde. We focused our discussion on how purchasing local seafood supports local economies and how the decisions of the individual consumer can have a positive impact on the communities that depend on the resources of the Chesapeake Bay.
A special thanks to Tj Tate, the National Aquarium and the Baltimore Book Festival for hosting the event, Gertrude's Restaurant, Woodberry Kitchen and True Chesapeake Oyster Co. for providing the local seafood dishes for the crowd to sample.
'Working the Water' exhibit at Chesapeake College
My exhibit, featuring oversized prints from the book, is making its rounds this fall! We are excited to announce that Chesapeake College on Maryland's Eastern Shore will be displaying the prints from October 3rd through the 17th in the Todd Performing Arts Center.
An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on evening of the October 3rd from 5-7pm! Refreshments and light appetizers will be served and copies of the book will be available for sale!
The event is open to the public and admission is FREE!
