About Jay
Jay’s passion in photography came from his father, Kevin Fleming, a former National Geographic Photographer and now a book publisher. At the age of 14 that Jay realized that he could take pictures also. Using one of Kevin’s hand-me-down rigs, a Nikon film camera and a old 300mm lens from the geographic days, Jay accompanied his dad to a rookery island in Delaware. With one of his photographs taken on the trip he won grand prize in the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2004 Wildlife of Wetlands photography contest. This experience sparked Jay’s interest and passion for photography, and he has continually strived to out-do himself with his next picture. Since graduating from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2009 Jay has documented his fishing and camping trips and worked in the field of fisheries. Feel free to contact him with any questions.
